Incompetent Manager
By -

I was served by red-haired woman at Kmart (in Narre Warren), she didn't know anything about the product of hair straighteners as I wanted to purchase one for my daughter, and then when I asked to speak to a manager she informed me she was one of the managers. Her tone and attitude was extremely sarcastic and smug, and at the same time she was extremely rude and not to mention unhelpful.

This wouldn't be the first time I have had poor customer service from Kmart Narre Warren, however it is a shock to me that she is a manager. No wonder the staff are so rude. It's a wonder how people of her standard are trained into a managing position. I mean this woman had a complete lack of respect for me as a customer, let alone a person. That was the last time I shopped at Kmart.

Poor Accounting
By -

FRANKFORT, KENTUCKY -- Today I went to Kmart for two items. The cashier short changed me by $3. When I went to the front desk to get my change (with my receipt) they said I would have to wait until tomorrow until they've counted all the drawers out. I showed her my receipt, and that the cashier had even typed in the dollar amount I gave her wrong. She put in she'd received $200 when actually I gave her a $20. It wouldn't make sense for me to give her $200 for $7.82 worth of stuff. I'm really mad that I have to make a return trip to the store, and then I get my money only if the drawer is wrong. Well, it's going to be wrong anyway with her typing in $200 instead of $20.

Kmart Ripping customers off on games
By -

TINLEY PARK,, ILLINOIS -- I bought a $60. game two days ago for my son's birthday. He opened the game last night. The game appeared to be sealed properly. We found a CD REWRITE in the package!!! Obviously Kmart employees are stealing the games, and resealing the packages. Kmart refuses to do anything to rectify the situation. They say that I should have opened my son's gift at the store, and they would have helped me.

If I wanted to buy my son a game that was not sealed, I would have gone to Game Stop. I will be going to Game Stop from now on. I take back what I wrote about KMart employees stealing the games. I have no idea who stole the game. I was just upset at being treated like I stole the game. :)

KMart and Olan Mills in Albertville, AL Sucks
By -

ALBERTVILLE, ALABAMA -- We went to Albertville, AL Kmart today and we had a disagreement with the lady at Olan Mills in the store. Both of the Olan Mills employees were rude and disrespectful. We asked them a number of times to call their manager to get the problem resolved. When she didn't my dad got upset and raised his voice. Then a loss prevention (want to be cop) came over and put his finger in my dad's face telling him he needed to keep his voice down. Then the manager, when we were getting ready to leave, did nothing when we told him the loss prevention guy was rude and put his finger in my dad's face.

When we asked for them to write down their names they refused telling us we didn't need their names. In the end they banned my dad from coming back into the store when he told the guy that he shouldn't put his finger in someone's face because he was lucky that my dad didn't punch him. Then another loss prevention (want to be cop) told my dad he had to leave than yanked the door out of my dad's hand as we were leaving.

They are rude and disrespectful people and they did all of this in front of kids. Come on now, they should learn better for professionalism. I have seen that none of them have any kind of professionalism at all. I would not suggest going to the Kmart or Olan mills in Albertville, AL.

Drug Coupons
By -

BRADENTON, FLORIDA -- I recently attempted to use a coupon issued by your store in Bradenton, FL for a $25 gift card if I transferred my prescription from Iowa to Florida. When I attempted to use the coupon, I was told that it was invalid because I was a Senior Citizen on the required Medicare drug program. The United States government REQUIRES that I purchase drug insurance (for $270 a year paid for out of my own pocket) even though it would be cheaper for me to have no insurance and pay all drugs myself. With a $250 deductible I paid the full price ($78.82) for this drug.

My sister has ALL of her drug costs paid by her husband's employer with only a very low copay for her. Although she is also a senior citizen she would qualify for your coupon because the company pays her insurance costs, but I do not because I have always paid all of my medical insurance and drug costs out of my own pocket. Does this seem fair to you??? I certainly will not use Kmart's pharmacy again.

Christmas Tree
By -

In November 2008 I purchased a 71/2 ft. pre-lit Christmas tree at Kmart. It was great and after the holiday season, stored it away. This year, upon taking it out to put up, guess what? No lights. Knew I had a 3-year guarantee and went to Kmart with it. They said I would have to contact the company on the guarantee card as they only cover 90-days.

Called the company and they stated I needed to FAX all info (receipts, etc.) to them. I said I did not have a FAX and needed the tree NOW for a party I was giving. The best they could do is some lights they will send, so they say, and which I have not gotten. This tree was $199.00 and what a rip-off. How about the 3-year guarantee?

Kmart Made Me Feel Like a Thief

HARLINGEN, TEXAS -- I bought a pair of Protege shoes my son liked. He wore the 2 days and today his shoes and feet smelled rancid. I know it was the shoes my son never smells like that. So I went to Kmart hoping to exchange them for another pair even if they cost a little more, but they said the UPC number on the shoes did not match my receipt and that the shoes did not look new (of course not).

He wore them for 2 days and they looked like he had worn them for 2 months, cheap shoes I tell you. But they went on and on about that UPC code, making me sound like I had not paid fo them. I left the shoes there. I am out my money, my son is out shoes another. How do you do for a single mom living hand to mouth?

Don't Apply at Clinton Township, MI Kmart..
By -

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN -- I just want to let anyone know that may ever try applying for a job at the Clinton township Michigan Kmart, that they may not hire you because they "just don't like you" (quoted from their store manager). I was offended and pissed off that someone could even do that. Well, maybe if you're an ass and/or prick then they may hire you because nice and pleasant just didn't seem to work for me. Thanks a lot! Hopefully Michigan will start getting more job openings soon so decent people don't have to try getting a jobs at places like this.

K-mart Discrimination
By -

CLERMONT, FLORIDA -- So, when I was dropping my girlfriend off at work today I was approached by a woman that was supposedly the "human resource manager" and she told me that while my girlfriend was there I was not allowed in the store. Now last I checked, K-mart was a public location and they have no grounds to say if I can or cannot enter their store. I could understand if I was suspected of stealing or something but I just drop her off. I think it is completely bogus and I got to find out how to report this.

On another note, I have had an employment application in for 5 months now and am more qualified than anyone there and they will not review my application. This is completely ridiculous and this is another thing I would like to somehow look in to see how things can be changed. Customer and employee oriented, this K-mart is a terrible place and should probably be shut down.

Kmart.com Product Returns and Customer Service
By -

NAPERVILLE, ILLINOIS -- I purchased a pair of shoes from kmart.com and when received they didn't fit so I returned them. In the meantime I ordered a pair in another size from the website, received them and they did not fit either so I returned them. I returned both pairs of shoes at two different times, from two different post offices, using the Kmart provided return shipping label and form that came with the shoes with my return address on the outside of the package. I have receipts showing that I mailed both pairs via USPS; however, I did fail to ask for proof of delivery. Kmart does not allow return of shoes ordered online to the store so shipping them back was my only option.

A few weeks later when I had not yet received credit for the return, I contacted Kmart and was told they did not receive either pair back and they were not responsible for lost or misdirected packages. The probability of both of these pairs of shoes being lost in the mail is about like the odds of winning the lottery! They must have a very poor tracking system as they couldn't use my order number to look anything up!

I have disputed with my credit card company and received credit for one pair during the dispute but the other pair was charged on a debit card and the bank will not issue credit. I am out $102.41 for the cost of the shoes and postage. Kmart made no effort whatsoever to remedy the situation. I was a frequent Kmart shopper in my city, but I will no longer shop at Kmart, Sears, Lands' End or any other affiliate.
