Recalled doesn't matter
By -

KENT, WASHINGTON -- Bought the hydroxycut rapid release caplets on March 19, 2009 and then it was recalled in May. I probably only used a week's worth of hydroxycut. For the life of me I couldn't find my receipt and K-mart does not return anything without a receipt. So today for some reason I came across it and called K-mart, located on Washington Ave in Kent, WA, to see if I could still return it because it's been recalled. She told me that I was given 90 days and the shelves have been stocked up with better products. How can a company correct a product in just a few months? Plus the product was recalled two months after I purchased it and it's not even three months since they recalled it.

What if I were to have bought the hydroxycut in on January and was passed the 90 day policy. With recalled products consumers should be able to return the product even without a receipt as long as they sold the product. I rarely shop at K-mart and after that unpleasant customer service help that I had I will not shop at that particular K-mart any more.

Recalled products should be given a longer time to return the item. I've been to other stores like Target, Wal-mart, TJ Maxx, etc. that will take the item regardless of the return policy. K-Mart should also post on the windows or at the customer service desk of recalled merchandise and how long until they will not accept the product.

Where's My Old Kmart?
By -

MADISON HEIGHTS, MICHIGAN -- I recently saw an ad in the Sunday paper for a $25 gift card on a transferred prescription. I called my doctor and had him write a renewal script for one of my old medications so I could take advantage of the $25 card which I was going to use as a gift. When I got to the pharmacy counter they told me it would be an hour because they were closing (presumably for lunch) so I decided to wait.

They told me I would only receive a $10 card because the prescription wasn't enough. Again I agreed. I proceeded to wait for the hour. When I went to pick up the prescription I was told there would be no gift card because it was considered a new prescription. Come on! Didn't she know that the 1 1/2 hours before? Now I remember why I don't shop at Kmart!

Hot Wheels Box Opening Event
By -

ROANOKE, VIRGINIA -- The ad for the Hot Wheels box opening event stated it would start at 9 A.M. on Feb. 21, 2009. We arrived at the Crossroads Mall, Kmart in Roanoke Va. at 8:45 a.m. to find the event had started at 8:40 A.M. I talked to the manager, who was outside smoking, his only response was he had been out and didn't know what time it was supposed to start. All of the boxes had been given out to about 8 people and no one was willing to give any up. If you don't know, ASK. His attitude left a really bad taste in my mouth and I will not go back to this Kmart for this reason. Thanks for listening.

Faulty Christmas Trees
By -

STREETSBORO, OHIO -- I purchased a Martha Stewart pre-lit Blue Ridge Mountain Tree (6-1/2ft) two seasons ago. This year 1/2 of the top lights went out. I tried to follow the directions enclosed with the tree and then I called Kmart only to be told that since it was over 1 year old they couldn't help me fix the problem. I paid hard earned money for this tree and expected it would be fine for more than 3 years. I have contacted my local news station as I had seen a report about the same tree on the news with the same problem. That family was told that they never had any complaints --hmm. Makes me wonder if they really don't care about consumers.

They Do Not Follow Their Ads
By -

HERMITAGE, PENNSYLVANIA -- My wife and I was in the Kmart in Hermitage, PA and she was wanting to get a couple of things for her son that were licensed by the NHL. Kmart had a sign up that all these things were on sale. We went up to the register and when the cashier rang up the purchases, they came up regular price. So we ask her. She then got the head cashier who said these particular things were not on sale, and I said, "That is not what the sign said." She said it again, so I said I will go back and get the sign and prove it to them.

So I went back and got the sign and brought it up, and she still denied that the sign meant just certain things. Well, this was one of their many generic signs they have around that says all licensed merchandise is on sale. She then gave the cashier permission to override the register price and give it to us at the sale price, not grant it. Why should you have to give permission to give a customer something at a sale price, when it is advertised? If we had been smart we would have just left it and they would not have gotten any money from us. We spent about $100.00 that time. We could have gone to Walmart and got the same things. But we were there.

So many people do not fight for the sale price. They just let the store lie and let the store get away with it. Not me. If it is on sale, then give it to me at the sale price or else do not advertise it. That is considered "switch-and-bait" and that is illegal.

Kmart Cary, NC Rips Off People - Make Sure You Open Any Electronic Package And Have The Serial Number Checked
By -

CARY, NORTH CAROLINA -- I bought a microwave oven from Kmart (Cary, NC) day before yesterday night. Today while unpacking I discovered Kmart has provided me with a lot of freebies...in form of at least a few hundred roaches inside the oven. I dutifully packed it up and went back to have it exchanged...and what happened next is perhaps my worst shopping nightmare.

The store manager walked up with a card reader and announced this oven was not sold by Kmart, because the serial # in the oven and one on the box do not match. A lot of discussion did not get me anywhere. They insisted I have swapped the oven and now trying to con them. Please insist on them opening any electrical item in front of you and checking the serial # on the product with one on the package. This people have some sort of scam on.

They Want Our Money, But They Don't Want To Treat Us Right
By -

NORTHPORT, ALABAMA -- Kmart want our money, but they don't want to treat us right. No good customer service. Kmart should treat human beings like human being with respect and kindness. I did an online application several times and in store. Donna of Human Resources in Northport, AL said she couldn't find my application but found other people application. I had an appointment for an interview at the same store and was on time and she said she was too busy to interview me, to call later and she would give me a new appointment for interview. I called and again she said she didn't have my application, but she have other people application.

So, I reapplied. Donna said she could not find my application. I waited about a month and applied again. I have an appointment date for an interview. I called and Donna, said she could not find my application, but she said she have other people online applications and that she is too busy for any interview. I have been scheduled several time for interviews, but Donna of Human Resources is too busy to interview. And she has said each time that my particular application could not be found. This is very unfair and discriminating.

Very Rude, Dishonest and Nasty Place!
By -

DECATUR -- I worked at Kmart for almost 7 months, then just quit in the past 3 days. I watched many wrong things go on in that store. Including, rudeness to customers and employees, dishonest workers and managers. The managers have no clue how to run a store, all they know how to do is boss everyone around and play boss man. Employees are treated very bad, they don't get their breaks or lunches on time, sometimes never get them at all. The managers only think about themselves.

The stores are very dirty and not clean at all. In the cafe there are roaches as big as someone's thumb crawling around, yes it's very nasty but I thought everyone should know. They do false advertising, and never have the prices of anything up so customers can see. The workers and managers are not patient with customers, they yell and cuss at their workers in front of customers, and I know from experience. There are many more things about Kmart everyone should know.

Need a Wii?
By -

ALMOST EVERYWHERE -- This upcoming Sunday, your local Kmart store will be rolling out an ad with the Nintendo Wii on it. If you call the store and ask if they have a Wii, they will say No. If you are the first few in line on Sunday morning, you may find yourself in luck for a Wii. Some stores will only receive 2-4, some none, while others store will receive a greater amount. Take this opportunity to get your Wii for $249.99 and stop paying those ridiculous amounts on eBay. Make sure to be in line as early as possible. Limit 1 per family or group.

Creepy Store Employee
By -

MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA -- Last night my family and I went to Kmart and we got followed around by very strange man. Every time we stopped to look at something, he asked if there was anything he could help us find. Now, I am as big a fan of good customer service as the next person, but I found this very strange. I stopped to look at a pair of pants, there he was. I stopped to look at office supplies, there he was. This went on for about 25 minutes. I'm still feeling creeped out. It was like he was following me around...
