BINGHAMTON, NEW YORK -- M&T Bank is an organization that is capitalizing on those who make mistakes and they even help their customers make mistakes. Overdraft fees create a huge revenue stream for this heartless banking institution. They are so sleazy!!! We need to write our politicians to get them investigated and audited. I have paid out over $1000.00 in only 2 months. In one case it was a matter of hours before the direct deposit went in. The other was a held check I deposited to cover myself. They are ruthless...my Christmas is ruined!!!

My Bank, Provident, was recently acquired by M&T Bank. They are the least consumer friendly bank I have ever encountered. Today (before 1100 AM) my wife took a CASH deposit to them and was told they do not credit cash until the following day! Additionally, I am in the military and even though I have direct deposit they do not credit the deposit for almost 24 hours. Do yourself a favor. Avoid them at all costs. They use your money for 24 hrs then charge you outlandish fees. I will be switching banks!

NIAGARA FALLS, NEW YORK -- If you plan to use your ATM card abroad, be aware that it will NOT work. If you call their card center and tell them your travel plans, you will be assured that the card will work, but it will not! This has happened to me twice now, while there were no problems with my wife's KeyBank card. Also, if you plan to have any kind of direct deposits from abroad, they will charge you a service fee, while many other banks will not.

I called the bank to tell them to stop payment on a product I cancelled two months ago. They keep billing me. I said to stop payments to them and got the runaround that they cannot stop electronic payments. What is so hard about this? Just stop paying the Hydroxatone people. Don't let them take any more money out of my account. What is so hard about this? Just block them. Jeez!

M&T Bank is a rip off. The online bill pay system process a payment before the date that I have set up to make a payment that cause my account another overdraft. M&T Bank can KISS MY **. YOU **.

AUBURN, NEW YORK -- Well a friend gave a check today from M&T Bank and I went to cash it and they said "no account here, YOU PAY us $10.00 fee to cash our check!!" Ha! This is why I dumped this bank 8 years ago. They are not user friendly. They are bilkers of the masses, who bait and switch, hide fees no other banks even dare to charge. They prey on the weak and vulnerable. GO TO ANY LOCAL BANK OR CREDIT UNION, THIS PLACE (M&T BANK) IS JUST A WARREN BUFFETT SCAMMER BANK.

1100 WEHRLE DRIVE, NEW YORK -- What is the limit for overdrafting your account?

I called M&T bank to discuss some overdraft fees I was charged with. I spoke to a customer services supervisor who began to raise her voice at me. I told her I did not like the way she was talking to me, and she said "well I'm trying to explain to you". When I asked for her manager's name she sarcastically answered that she could give me the name of the CEO. Completely unprofessional!

I've been sending in my payments on time, but every 6 months or so, I get charged a late fee. I wonder if M&T bank does this deliberately for extra money. Does this happen to anyone else? It seems too often for the mail to get screwed up! This is only one complaint, I have others. I would not recommend M&T Bank to anyone!!!

HARRISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA -- I can't see how a Free Business Checking Account could charge you for depositing more than $5,000.00 per month. Anything in excess of the $5K will be charged $0.16 per $100. How do they expect any business to survive on $5K a month. This is so ridiculous, so I'm closing my account with M&T. Nothing with them is FREE.
