To Whom It May Concern,

My name is Daniel Frazier and in October 2005 I purchased a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, washer and dryer from Nebraska Furniture Mart in Kansas. These appliances are less than 2 years old and I have already experienced problems with all of them but the washer. I could not afford, nor think I would need, the extended warranties (especially within 2 years) and did not purchase them. Nor can I afford the prices that are charged to replace the parts and the rip off service calls.

I know of many people, including my parents, who have had the same appliances for 10-20 years and do not understand the apparent lack of concern you have for your customers.

Needless to say I am disgusted with your products and your retailers and will never purchase another Frigidaire product. Furthermore I will use whatever media at my disposal to advise the public of the inferior products that you produce. I am also contacting the Better Business Bureau and Attorneys General in both Missouri and Georgia. I am sick of being ripped off by major companies trying to get rich.

Unfortunately Yours,
Daniel Frazier

Daniel,I like your letter.Hopefully Frigidaire will too and step up and take care of your issues.

I also agree with your attitude toward the manufacturer.

Unfortunately black-balling Frigidaire and never purchasing their products again probably can't be avoided. Today brand name are almost meaningless. Most brand names have been sold to off-shore manufacturers to enhance their market efforts. It works. Most people who buy a particular brand have no idea who the corporate company behind it is. These manufacturers go to great lengths to remain anonymous. They wish to take your money and provide as little customer/product support as possible.

Am I cynical? You bet. Many experiences have made me so.

Sadly, Frigidaire IS an inferior product. Blame the retailer for carrying this know junk (at least since WCI bought them in 81.) The BBB and AG are wastes of time all around. You didn't purchase an extended warranty, so you can't complain about not being covered. I'm assuming this was a copy of a letter you wrote last year based on the math not tying out.

Multiple failures/repairs
Posted by on
ENCINITAS, CALIFORNIA -- I am writing to express my disappointment in the Frigidaire dryer we bought. We bought a Frigidaire Dryer Model number FGR341AC on November 9, 2003. We obtained a 10 year warranty on it. We were given the option and chose to pick up and install the dryer ourselves.

THE DAY we bought it and installed it, it did not work. Efforts to return the dryer were refused! I had never heard of not being able to return an unsatisfactory product. I did not have faith in a product that did not work out of the box. We were told by Frigidaire and the company we bought it from (Appliances Direct) and the warehouse we picked it up from in San Diego that they will not take it back. After much hassle from Appliances Direct who refused to rush the igniter we needed, 10 days later the igniter was received from a place less than 20 miles away. That was the first repair.

On June 8, 2003, less than 7 months later, the main motor needed replacing.. Three months after that the belt broke. The knob broke last October and needed replacing.

It was when the knob broke that I found out the 10 year warranty we got was a warranty from the store, NOT Frigidaire. The store is out of business, of course, making our warranty now useless.

Since then the belt broke twice more. Every time I call the last repair company, I’m told they don’t do Frigidaire repairs requiring me to find a new repair place. With this last needed repair, the prior company again did not do Frigidaire repairs or carry the belt for it. It took me a while to find a store that did sell and have on hand a belt. I had to drive 2 towns over to get it.
Also the dryer is supposed to hold a super size load to match the washer we bought but I can’t use this feature because it just doesn’t work

To summarize, in 2 years and one month I’ve had a new igniter, main motor, knobs and 2 belts. The belt broke for the third time 6 months later. With this last belt needed, we bought a new dryer.

We have a very good appliance expert on here, named Pirate, he'll be happy to answer your questions.

Where is the poster asking any questions tander? I have to believe this particular dryer had something wrong with it beyond being Frigidaire(which is bad enough). On it's 2nd motor and needing a 4th belt on a two plus years? I'd bet that drum isn't riding straight causing the premature wear.

If you need replacement appliance parts, try this site: http://www.repairclinic.com/0070.asp
I had a Kenmore washer, and to make a long story short, I had a lot of problems with the motor and drives for the first year. After a number of repairs I discovered a service bulletin where a nylon drive connecter that was square shaped was found to be defective and had been replaced with one shaped as an elispe. The repair people had not bothered to read buletin, (or were punking me on purpose for future business), and were replacing the defective part with other defective parts from inventory. I first had to discover the actual manufaturer, Maytag, and contact them for service updates that, obviously, were not pasted down through Sears. When the right part was in place it ran well for a number of years. Sad, these days we have to be experts on everything these days.

Wrinkled Clothes
Posted by on
CHARLESTON, WEST VIRGINIA -- I bought a new dryer and front load washer in Oct. 08. The washer is good but the dryer really SUCKS!!! It is the worst dryer I have ever owned. All the clothes come out wrinkled in which we have to iron.

Will never go with Frigidaire again.

do you have a permanent press cycle? Do you take the clothes out of the dryer when it is done or do you let them sit?

Washer never worked
Posted by on
MT. PLEASANT, MICHIGAN -- I purchased a paired washer & dryer. Stackable front loading. The washer from day one did not dispense either the bleach or the fabric softener. Multiple visits by service companies and 2 years later I still have a washer that takes 45 minutes per load to run and I must hand mix water with the softener and bleach and add them through the soap dispenser myself.

Now the dryer needs a new igniter already. I paid a lot of money to become more inefficient.
