So far so good

I recently switch from State Farm insurance to Travelers insurance. I really liked State Farm because my agent was great, but the only times I had to deal with an actual payout from them I was not satisfied. I switched to Travelers because I had just bought a house and Travelers was able to get me the best price with everything. I didn't like my agent very well and that upset me.

I really wanted to switch back just because of the agent, but when I actually had to deal with the company they were amazing. I wasn't made to feel like I was trying to cheat them somehow which was always how I felt when I had to deal with State Farm. Also the compensation I felt was fair which I never felt was fair with State Farm. I no longer have any desire to switch back to State Farm. I still don't like my agent as much but I only have to deal with them when I have to change my policy in some way.

Because I am in Massachusetts I cannot view, review or pay my auto insurance bill online. I can with my boat and homeowners insurance. Travelers states that it is because they use a different billing system for Mass auto and that is just the way it is. My bank won't allow me to us autopay because Travelers will not recognize the 'special' Mass policy number. I either have to call M-F between 9 & 5 when everyone else calls or hand write and mail a check. Nice. I wonder if getting money from a claim will be the same. DO NOT USE TRAVELERS.

Overcharged for Insurance for Years
By -

I had Homeowners Insurance with Travelers for over 15 years on 3 separate homes. Last year they began canceling my insurance on each house one at a time. I had a claim for the first time ever on each house due to the Windstorm and Ice storm we experienced last year. They canceled each house and charged a "cancelation fee" on each one even though they are the ones that canceled. I recently received a letter stating there is a lawsuit against Travelers for overcharging for years. Unfortunately in the Holiday mess that letter was discarded. Does anyone else have information on the estimated 9.00-12.00 you would receive for every month you had insurance with Travelers?

Canceled My Insurance for Inaccurate Reasons

A few months ago my husband was driving my car and was rear-ended by another driver. When we filed the claim we gave his license number to several agents on multiple occasions. Today, after 16 years as a customer, I received a rather curt letter informing me my policy was terminated because they claim we had never provided a license number. In other words, they were not listening on the multiple occasions we provided the number.

I stuck with them when I graduated from college because my parents trusted them. When I tried calling customer service I was disconnected and when I tried to call back they were suddenly closed. I tried calling the 24-hour claims line and the customer service representative there could have cared less that I'm about to be without insurance as a result of their carelessness. My husband just went to his auto insurance site and after 10 minutes I have new auto insurance at a much cheaper rate than Travelers. Avoid Travelers at all cost. They treat loyal customers like garbage!

Avoid Travelers Insurance!

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- Please take this seriously, I learned the hard way. I had an accident at work back in April which resulted in a torn rotator cuff, broken bone in my elbow and nerve and muscle damage in my wrist, all due to a mechanical failure, not mine. Anyway, it is now December and still NO approval for my surgeries. (The COMPANY'S doctors have said the same thing my doctors have said 3 surgeries are required.) I am off work completely since July and they have yet to approve workman comp checks. MRI and EMG tests have all shown the same result.

The company's doctor actually called them thinking something needed to be clarified, and they didn't give him the time of day either. Am I being a crybaby? My doctor says the torn rotator and broken bone are not going to heal properly by themselves. Now they want to send me to something called pain management. Maybe I can wish myself better. In the mean time my house is going up on foreclosure this coming Friday and I'll have to give away my cats and dogs. I'm sure quite a few of you have had the same story to tell, which in a sad way makes me feel like I'm not alone. God still loves us and I know that will get us through. Merry Christmas!!!

Also, the ones involved were very much a lady or gentlemen whichever I was speaking with. Just can't say enough about this great company and also the backbone of the company, their employees.

NEW YORK -- I lost my engagement ring which I had for more than 30 years. I thought that it had fallen off in my car, as I've had that happen in the past to a bracelet. When I realized that it wasn't in my car, I was very upset, as was my husband. I called Travelers to report the loss, and was very pleased to have someone call me back almost immediately. They sent me all of the necessary paperwork very quickly, and settled my claim very quickly as well.

ATLANTA, GEORGIA -- Travelers Insurance has always provided excellent service and products. I have been with the company about 8 years. They have provided excellent service and work very hard on my claims. They have provided men with an excellent product with a very reasonable price. I have gotten quotes from other insurance companies and none of them came close to beating their price. I highly recommend this company for your insurance needs.
