Sears/Kenmore - Kenmore 790 Oven Not Preheating or Maintaining Proper Temp
TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA -- We had a house built a year and two months ago and had all new Kenmore stainless steel appliances installed (washer, dryer, stove, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator).
We spent thousands of dollars on what we were expecting to be top quality appliances with a strong warranty and good customer service. What we got was a major let down :/ the microwave had broken plastic trim that covered the filter for the hood, all of the appliances had the plastic, styrophoam and blue tape on it and in it after install.
Now just over a year later the oven will not bake. the broiler works and the bottom element is good...when I called the Sears help line I got a guy who spoke iffy English from India who we will call Bob. Bob informed me that it would be best to purchase a 300$ extended warranty, or pay the flat fee of 80$ just to have someone stop by and look at it.
After paying over 600$ a year ago for the stove, I'm pretty pi**** off about the whole thing. I have owned a few cheap ovens in my day and never had to pay this much for service or products that only last for a year then crap out on you. In a perfect world Sears would show up and make the wrong right without having to deal with all the hoops and barriers of big business repair fees and policys. Then after you deal with them they send out a private repair man who is under contract with Sears to do their work.......its leaving a bad taste in my mouth...and the fridge ice maker seems to be getting louder and louder making "water" noises that when purchased did not make.
