ELY, NEVADA -- Purchased model FFTR1814LW2 in Oct 2010 just because the price was right. I had not done any homework. The unit works great and I have no real complaints, just a FYI. The cooling fan works almost continually and is VERY noisy. Usually you don't know when the fridge is doing its cycling but on this model, you can't help but notice. If I had it to do again, I would have taken more time to research the fridges in my price range.
THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE FILTER TO THE WATER AND ICE CUBES. When using the water from the on door mount (after 2 months with a new filter) it leaks inside the fridge. It got so bad it flooded my whole inside with water. I'm a widow and don't use that much water. I have a friend with the same model and they had to replace the filter after 6 weeks-they use a lot of water. I'm out of warranty and so are they. My son turned down the flow of water to reduce pressure but it still leaks.
ORLANDO, FLORIDA -- What a nightmare. I am staring at a beautifully remodeled kitchen with a space where our Electrolux/Frigidaire Gallery microwave was. After 2 years we had it taken out. It is on the garage floor and I am going to throw it away. I am sure the old magic chef would still be working. At least the Frigidaire Gallery dishwasher had the decency to die while it was still under warranty. The refrigerator is a noisy piece of junk with numerous issues. All we can do is let others know so they won't have to suffer like us.
FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA -- We built our home in Dec 07 and all of our appliances have broken down (of course after 1 yr warranty). We just replaced our fridge and dishwasher (week before Xmas) as the cost to fix them was not much less than replacing. I called FRIGIDAIRE and asked if they would do anything to help and I got nothing. I would never buy another FRIGIDAIRE product again. Even the repair guy said they do more repairs on FRIGIDAIRE products than anything else (keeps them in business).
MISSISSIPPI -- I am very disappointed in this freezer. It is so noisy that in order to hear television, the volume must be way up, disturbing anyone trying to sleep at night. I have had it for three days, and it seems never to stop running. It took seven hours for this freezer to cool down as indicated by the little digital light on the door. I paid $433.00 for a piece of junk. Has anyone got any suggestions?
SOUTH BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS -- I used the stove 5-6 times. When I was preheating the oven for about 1-2 minutes, when I opened the door to put a slice of pizza in, I saw sparks coming from the heating element on the right-hand side in the back and it melted in that area. It's a piece of junk and the warranty ran out.
BLOOMINGTON, MINNESOTA -- I have had my fridge broken down a total of 5 times each time it's something different. I have contacted their customer service. They tell me since the fridge is over 2 years old (the fridge is 2 years and 2 months old) I'm just out of luck and "here's some coupons." I find this appalling. I will never by anything Frigidaire and anyone who will listen should not buy it either unless you like being put on hold and then talking to someone in India who will read you responses off a screen.
I'm a home remodeler and have been redoing kitchens and bathrooms for years. Today I spent a frustrating afternoon with some Frigidaire appliances. It is not uncommon to find instructions to be poorly written, but I think Frigidaire tops the chart. Their instructions are not in a logical sequence, are too concise, and their templates don't work. I've had no problem with other products but with Frigidaire, you might as well toss the instructions and figure it out for yourself. I will not recommend their products for these reasons as well as the other reviews I've read...
