DALLAS, GEORGIA -- We bought a new Maytag Legacy Series Washer and Dryer 05/24/2004. Every time we dry a bed sheet or blanket, within 1 minute it looks like a camping style "bed-roll". Bottom line: Maytag will do nothing about it. Maybe Home Depot will? We have never seen this happen before. Our old Whirlpool never did this! Then, about 3 months later the dryer started squeaking. The squeaking stopped after the first service call (they said it needed lubrication). Then, it started squeaking again and the washer began to stop just after the wash cycle - full of water! After a bit of turning the timer off and on and turning to a different cycle, it usually starts again.

Called for service. They came but did not have the parts. They had to order them. Then, I get a call from Maytag's automated system, telling me that the parts arrived and "I need to call for service"! OK. I call for service but only the washer part (timer) has arrived. Not the dryer part (idler wheel). OK, come fix the washer now and the dryer later. I wrote a letter to the (manager) Maytag Service Center in Cleveland,TN (emailed them as well). He does not call me but his assistant does. They cannot do anything about the "bed-rolling". "It's a design issue".

My 14 month old Maytag gas dryer stopped heating. According to the repair person, the dryer had a bad sensor which burnt out the ignitor. Maytag had a good reputation with me. I'll never buy another Maytag appliance again. When contacting Maytag they said they knew of no such problem. After research online, I found at least 200 other complaints about the same problem. Cost Me $192 to put a new sensor and ignitor in.

I bought this Maytag Bravos 300 series clothes and dryer set on July 2009. I paid $ 1830.47 for the set, not cheap. Today Jan. 30, 2011 it is broken, I am 61 yrs. old, I am the only person to use it so it is not abused. Do not waste your money on this product, I had always heard they were the best, but my Kenmore didn't quit. I even sold it when I bought this new one. I am very disappointed in this product.

CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE -- I purchased a Maytag washer and dryer 3 1/2 years ago because they are supposed to be very reliable. Now the motor in my dryer (Model MDE8000AYW) has failed. Our previous dryer (Kenmore) never needed a motor in 26 years of service.

PEARL, MISSISSIPPI -- I have had this going on 5 years now and no problems until it quit heating up. I am thinking of the heating element so go to Maytag to check it out. The gentleman check it out for me. He called back said, "It was fine." Did the same thing with the thermostat and fuse. "All were fine." he said. The repairman came for about 20 minutes said it was the thermostat. So who's lying now?

WOODBRIDGE, NEW JERSEY -- To all just to let people know I bought 2 Maytag front end loaders 19 months ago. My washer already broke down, main bearing to the drum which also is broke. Maytag answer to the fix is not replacing the machine what other companies would do. No not Maytag. Repair the machine so the amount $$$$ it cost me to buy the pair I got the shaft. That's what all us consumers always get. State, government do nothing. I'm p***d off.

I purchased my Maytag Bravos washer/dryer from Costco this past September. I love the series. The washer gets my clothes really clean and uses minimum water and detergent, plus the options to choose from are numerous. I have not had one problem. It does take a while to reach their customer service department for any questions, but they are thorough and helpful.

I am in shock reading the other reviews trashing the Maytag Neptune set. I bought my Neptune front load set in 2005 and have never had any problems with it whatsoever. It still performs like it did when I first bought it in 2005. I absolutely love my Neptune set! I bought my set after falling in love with my mother's Neptune set. My mother also never had a problem with her set. I am sorry to hear that so many of you have had problems with yours.

My Maytag-Whirlpool dryer drum has come apart!! I could understand if it was a motor or electrical component, but the drum itself!? It's obviously from the cheap metal or from a poor weld. Maytag-Whirlpool customer service says there is nothing they can do! To all potential Maytag-Whirlpool customers, avoid Maytag-Whirlpool dryers! It's a latent problem waiting to happen, to you! We thought we were buying a quality appliance! Don't waste your money!!?

DEXTER, MISSOURI -- Washer motor went out 1 week after warranty ended (1 yr). Dryer motor did same 2 weeks later. A valve on the bottom of my fridge has gone out twice and the door seal has been replaced and needs it again. I bought all the appliance 5 years ago.
