2nd Mortgage Foreclosure Sale
By -

I changed from a good 2nd Mortgage to a Chase Home Equity line of credit in 2007. Made timely payments until the economy went South and lost 40% of my income. I tried twice to get Chase to modify my high rate of 9.25 and they gave me the runaround for months and never gave me a straight answer. I went online to pay my bill and they disabled my login etc: To make a long story short I lost my job in April 2010, have savings enough to pay them until I get on my feet but they won't take my money.

My 5 months past due plus late fees comes to $3,200 but they wouldn't allow me to even pay them $5,000 and resume monthly payments and told me my loan was being charged off. They are forcing a foreclosure sale even though they are in a 2nd lien position. This bank is heartless and I just want the world to know.

SC cannot get Equity Line Credit
By -

I have had an account with Chase for over ten years for my mortgage. We have been paying with an electronic draft and we have never missed or been late for a single payment. We owe one-fourth of the value of our home. Chase said that because we live in South Carolina, that we are refused an equity loan. I told him that we have plenty of equity in our home and that I wanted a loan to buy a new heat pump system for the bottom floor. He repeated his S. C. statement.

I am a tax payer and I am infuriated that I was rejected simply because of the state where we live. I asked him about the tax-payer bailout money and he acted like he had no idea what I was talking about. My wife said "'F' - them, go to another bank".

Continual Harassment by Chase Bank
By -

I have had my mortgage with Chase for 4 years. When I sought out the loan I was well aware that my credit profile was not the best, but I had equity in my home. I was given a mortgage by Chase at a fairly high rate. I have made every single mortgage payment on time and in full to Chase monthly. However, for the past year and a half to two years I have received unsolicited phone calls from Chase asking me to provide payment information over the phone, after I have made my payment online.

I make every payment at exactly the same time per month and for the same amount. But I continue to be harassed. Also I answer all of the phone calls, since I have nothing to hide. Even after I speak with their representative, I receive upwards of five more calls that same day. Because I live in Long Island, I have filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau as well as the Attorney General of New York State. This does nothing. What makes this a happy ending is that I am in the process of refinancing for a significantly lower rate and Chase will never see another dime of my money!!!

Chase PMI with my Mortgage
By -

Being an old WAMU customer I was told my PMI would be removed this past August when my LTV was 80%. They were going by my appraised value and my loan balance, which would give me 80% LTV. I even got a letter from Wamu letting me know after August's payment it would come off.

Well Chase says "I don't think so." They go by the purchase price???!!!! How is that possible? If you buy a foreclosed home or buy a beater home and renovate it to increase the value you're still stuck with the purchase price? That makes no sense. I got my place at a steal and now I have to suffer bc I didn't put 20% down even though my property is worth more than I paid for it 3 years ago. Don't bother banking with Chase. Use Citibank. ATMs in all the 7-11's saves me at least $20-$30 a month in ATM fees.

Chase won't refinance my mortgage without huge fees!
By -

I never applied with Chase for a mortgage, they bought it from the original holder of my mortgage. As soon as they were the holder, they started instituting all kinds of fees and started requiring me to do escrow at their maximum allowable liberally calculated amounts. I have a 61K mortgage on a 380+K house and I wanted to tap into another 75K. Chase already has my loan, knows the value of my home, and knows I have paid on time for seven years YET they want to treat me like a totally new mortgage customer - doing title work, appraisals, origination fees that total to: $6,350 plus charge 2.25 points to get a 5% mortgage.

Found a credit union that is going to do my loan in house, believes my property tax valuation and simply drove by my house to see that it was worth what I said it was. They are giving me a 30 year payment (with a 15 year balloon because they don't want to be out there too long) at 5% with fees totaling $2,435.

Google says no credit union took a penny of bailout dollars. Chase took $25 billion as soon as it was offered. Chase is going to lose my measly 61K mortgage and they couldn't care less because they don't care about little guys like me except to take anything and everything they can get. I'm going to love seeing them in the rear view mirror. You should read the real horror stories about CHASE on this website (www.my3cents.com). I'm fortunate I can get free of CHASE so painlessly.

Chase Mortgage Intentional Stealing by Illegal Means
By -

We've had our mortgage with Chase for a few years now and I don't know what's changed, but something has. Their business practices have gotten deceptive at best, I suspect maybe even illegal at worst. Our mortgage is due on the 1st of the month. Our grace period ends the 16th. While on unemployment we ran behind, but as long as we make our payment by the 16th of the following month we are only late on one payment and can make one payment at a time. WE pay a late fee and remain a month behind, but 1 is better than 2 until we're back to work. We were advised by Chase to do it this way. We've done it for months.

Now the creepy part. Today was the 16th. I go to make my payment like usual, but they won't let me. Their system says I have to make two payments - EVEN THOUGH today is the 16th and my next payment is not late until tomorrow, they are saying it's late today. According to our contract they cannot count our payment for this month late until the AFTER the 16th, but they are doing it anyway.

This DISHONEST move makes it look like we're 2 months behind when we are not and now their system will only allow 2 payments at once and I get charged another late fee even though I should not be. These crooked banks got BILLIONS of our tax dollars and now they rip us off! I don't know one single working person who's benefited from the bail outs or even a bank that's been helpful. All I've heard of is more dishonesty from the banks, more thievery. Where does a person go to get justice in a situation like this?

Morons Running Ramped

I have to tell you that, my experience with Chase management seems like some kind of freakish nightmare. They put incompetent people in positions that manage people that are really trying to make a difference for the customers. These people make a six-grade science project look like rocket science.

They are out for one thing only, themselves! They couldn't care less about the customers, really have no clue nor do they care about the needs of the customers. Banks these days should be doing all they can to treat the customers with respect. These guys remind me of a bunch of drunk rednecks at a Nascar race. They don't care who they spill beer on, as long as they get their share into their mullets. I would stay as far away from Chase as possible.

PROVO, UTAH -- Chase bank is the worst bank to do a mortgage with. Our mortgage officer "forgot" to send our documents to underwriting and has left us in a new state homeless for now almost a month. No one from Chase will return our calls. It is laughable how unprofessional and pathetic Chase bank has been to work with.

ATLANTA, GEORGIA -- I owe the bank 69K for home mortgage. I paid 20K, they credited 10k, they acknowledge the receipt of the other 10K but they do not credit it to my account. I called them multiple times and they say, I am right about the discrepancy and they will rectify it. It is now one week and no one has corrected it.
