You need to know. Purchased a 42 inch lg flat screen from best buy feb 6th 2012. Three weeks later I noticed a 45 degree shadow in each of the lower corners of the screen. I called the geek squad and made a service appointment. No one showed up or called. The next day went by and not a word. So I called again, this time I was put on hold 15 minutes and a second appointment was made to inspect my new set.

after the inspection was done at my home in broken english it was explained to I need a new lcd screen. To me the means replace the tv!! Two weeks from now I may get my new set fixed; best buy the geek squad and the service department sucks.

APPLETON, WISCONSIN -- After just 28 days, my TV developed a small in the screen, it happened as I adjusted the set to get it from reflecting to sun light from a window. So I took the set back to the Appleton Best Buy store, within their 30 day return policy. They refused to take it back or to explain why they wouldn't. I asked if the mfg of the TV would replace it. Again SO Sorry sucker. So after just 29 days I'm out $450.00. I will not shop there again and hopefully this review will make others think twice before they do. Best Buy LIES!!!

Very Low Volume on 19in T.V. Insignia
By -

SPRING HILL, FLORIDA -- Back in June of 2011 we purchase a small TV for our airstream travel trailer, due to illness we have been unable to travel but did take a small trip to see our son and it was at that time we discovered that the volume was so poor that we were unable to use the TV and returned it to the store and ask for a replacement. They refused and said it was not defected and the volume was o.k. and that they no longer had that model (Insignia).

So we left the TV with them since it is no good to us the way it is. All we were asking is that they replace it with one that has better volume. The TV has a two year warranty and on the box with a label that said return it to the store and that is what we did. Only to find out that Best Buy manager Steven was very customer unfriendly and unwilling to accommodate us with acceptable alternative. I am hopeful that we will be able to resolve this problem soon. Thank You for your prompt attention in this matter.P. S. the TV was purchase with my husband Discover card under the name dilmas **.

Still Waiting, 3 Months Later
By -

In late October, I went into the Rockaway Best Buy and paid $100 to get the Geek Squad to send someone out and tell me what type and size of flat screen TVs I needed for two rooms. The technician showed up Nov. 7th, surveyed our needs and promised to get back with a proposal within a week. We never heard from him and after six weeks we started calling Best Buy and they promised to have someone get in touch. Our Xmas present to ourselves became a Super Bowl present.

We finally heard somebody in early January and another tech came to the house. He also promised to get right back to us. The Super Bowl is next week and we haven't heard from anyone lately. I will be calling Monday to get my money back and hire someone else. Skip the "Weak Squad".

Cyber Monday Rip Off
By -

I just want to spread the word on my horrific experience with Best Buy. I purchase a 3D-LED TV online on Cyber Monday Nov-29 2010. They promised it to be delivered on 12/20/2010, I got a call on 12/18 that it will be delivered on 12/20 as promised so I decided to get rid of my old TV and went to purchase a new TV stand. After setting up and waiting, I got a call from Best Buy that the TV that I purchased is no longer available and my order is automatically cancelled. They told me that if I like I can buy another TV but they can't honor the Cyber Monday sale, I would have to get it at normal price.

After spending about 3 hours on the phone with different Customer Representatives, I've realized that there's nothing can be done. They finally decided to give me $200.00 off with another purchase which I end up doing because I had no other option. The thing that bothers me is that they although they cancelled my order, they still had the same TV for sale on the website, but they wouldn't give it to me since I've paid $1000:00 less than the price they're posting. I wouldn't advise anyone to shop at Best Buy on Cyber Monday or any other time because this could happen to you and there's nothing that can be done about it.

Don't buy DVDs, CDs, etc from Best Buy EVER!

I bought a Saw IV DVD from Best Buy. It would not play. I tried it in two different Blue Ray Players, same error. I took the DVD back and exchanged it. The second copy was bad with the same error. I exchanged it again, same error. I wanted a refund. They refused, citing some copyright law and an agreement they signed with whom every they got the DVD from. I'm sure Best Buy is aware of laws against theft of goods and services. Apparently, these guys choose to violate that law. My advice is to never buy a DVD, CD, Software etc. from Best Buy. Do so at your own peril.

Insignia Brand TV's Poor Tuner Design
By -

The tuner in the 19" NS-22e450A11 TV lacks a basic feature. If you use an antenna, the only way to add new channels is to use the auto program feature. All previously stored channels and settings are erased each time you run a scan. A scan takes 25 to 30 min. If you have an antenna with a rotor, you have to run a new scan each time you move the antenna in a new direction.

The sales people at Best Buy were clueless. They were unable to answer any of my questions concerning the tuners for any of the display models. I asked them "Where are all the remotes for the TVs so I can figure it out for myself?" The response was they keep all the remotes and manuals for the TVs locked up in the back room and they could not bring them out. I wound up returning this TV. Last time I buy anything from Best Buy.

TV recycling

So I buy a new TV from Best Buy and ask the guy if they recycle old TVs. He says sure so next day I bring my old TV but they tell me it's too big, has to be 32 inch or less. Still can't figure that one out. They inform me they do have pickup service that could just come pick up the TV since it is over 32 inches. So I luge the huge ** TV back home. Call them up only to find out they want to charge me $100 to pick it up. I said **!!! Anyone else think that is the dumbest thing? I mean they get a free TV and prob sell it for more than cost to pick it up. How stupid is that?

Unfair Warranty Limits
By -

MOBILE, ALABAMA -- After six months the 32" Insignia HDTV DVD combo I purchased started giving me problems, I contacted tech support. Explain the situation to tech support, tech support instructed me on how to correct the problem and finally concluded that the blinking line were due to the rainy weather from my cable box being that the TV is only 6 months old. On March 29, 2010 the blinking lines continue on all channels and the TV is now echoing.

I took the TV in for and exchange and was told by the manager of the 30-day exchange policy. Now I have no choices but to let the Geek Squad repair the TV, wrong!! After surrendering I pick my TV up from the Geek Squad, get home and find that the power cord is missing. I call back to the store, the manager plays like he has no knowledge of my power cord being missing.

My DVD player don't play, when you change channels the screen goes black like the signal is not connecting, and the blinking lines continues. My TV was not repair correctly and new problems access. Management is having fun at my expense. I was warned about Best Buy, I now have brought senses. Never, never, never again.

Worst Customer Service Experience of a Lifetime
By -

GLENDALE, ARIZONA -- Approximately 2 years ago I purchased this TV. It just stopped working. I called them on a Sunday and they stated the Geek Squad would be out on Thursday afternoon. When I was on the phone with them I pulled out a whole file of Best Buy receipts where I have spent thousands of dollars. To my horror I could not see any of the printing on any of them to see if I had a warranty. I found out this happens to all their receipts. I agreed that I would pay for repairs if I did not have the warranty.

After waiting 5 days for the "Geek Squad" to come out, my door bell rang. A man came into my home walked straight past me and started yelling 150 dollars. (Apparently this is what they charge to walk in the door) I told him no one had explained this he called his supervisor who then told him "cancel the call." I was asking to speak to the manager, but he refused. Instead he yelled at me in my own home and refused to do anything for me even when I offered to pay the 150.

After several phone calls and some pseudo-apologies no one has called me back and my TV still sits dark. I will NEVER spend another penny at BEST BUY and I encourage others to do the same. It was actually very scary and this guy now knows where I live!
