Rude Pharmacist

MARLIN, TEXAS -- I had gone online Saturday morning and requested a refill on one of my prescriptions. I requested that it be ready by 4:00. Since we had to run some other errands around noon I called just to check if it was ready. He stated that "I am working on it right now." We decided to wait until later to go and at 4:00 we went to the local Wal-Mart. After waiting in line for 5 to 10 minutes, I was again informed that "I am working on it right now." When I said that I had called 4 hours ago and received the same answer he told me he was working alone and he would get to it. When I asked what time it would be ready he stated that it would be ready when he got ready to fill it.

I came home and went online to move all my prescriptions to another pharmacy, and Wal-Mart has the nerve to wonder why they are losing customers!!! Guess I should have mentioned that this man has been reported numerous times even by fellow co-workers. There are no clinics or doctors offices open on the weekend, so we are not talking that he was just overworked. Also, five minutes after I got home there was an email telling me my prescription was ready. Wal-Mart is about 1 mile from my neighborhood, so if he would have just told me it would just be a few minutes, I would have waited.

Over Priced Item.

LONGVIEW, TEXAS -- I purchased a box of 50 FreeStyle Lite blood glucose monitoring test strips at Wal-Mart and was charged $57.94. I also purchased a monitor and lancets at the same setting. When I returned home I checked Internet pricing for the same items and found that a box of 50 strips was $34.94. That is a difference of $23.00. Plus with the Internet price of $34.94, I could have gotten a free monitor. I feel that Wal-Mart took advantage of me and will no longer purchase medical supplies there without first checking Internet prices. I tried to return the strips for a refund, but Wal-Mart's policy is not to allow returns of medical supplies for any reason.

LYNCHBURG, VIRGINIA -- I went to get a medication filled and it was 8:15 pm and dropped off prescription and the medication was filled and I paid for it and left the store to go home and when I got home I counted the medication and the pills were 3 short. I called the store and the pharmacy was closed. The next morning I called the pharmacy and talked to 3 people before I got someone. When I talked to the pharmacist I explained the shortage of medication and was told that could not take care of this because it was a pain medication for dental surgery, and that they got calls all the time about shortage of medication on drugs.

The law states that with certain medications that once it leaves the store nothing can be done. I am aware of this, but that was the least of my worries when I was really short on medication and did not lie as I was very upset and raise my voice when was told could not take care of this because drug addicts call all the time to try to get meds. This was a quote by the person on the other end of the phone, this time I got upset. I am telling the truth, people need to be careful as to how they call people certain things and not judge others by certain behavior of others.

ST. MARYS, GEORGIA -- My father in law had recently moved from one state of GA to another and had been visiting his son. Mr Cecil ** had Georgia Medicaid but was not proper insurance card available but Ms. Jade ** at store # 836 in St. Marys Georgia was the most helpful person I had ever met. She called another pharmacy where my father in law had his meds filled to get the correct information so she could fill his prescriptions. She showed us the most outstanding and most compassionate care for his situation I had ever experienced in any pharmacy.

I am a registered nurse I work in Florida and I deal with pharmacist and pharm techs on a daily basis Ms Jade is just simply the best. She deserves an award for this it took almost 1 hour for us to get this resolved but she focused on our need and only our need at that present time. She is totally an awesome pharm tech and I let her know that and the pharmacist before we left in these troubled economic times when things are so bad for our seniors and disabled patients to get there medicine. I could only wish there was more of her kindness in the world.

Pharmacy Drugs Are Imported From the Third World
By -

WESTMINSTER, COLORADO -- Astonished! Wal-Mart has been filling my generic prescriptions with products manufactured in Mumbai, India. Not only do I question the purity and safety of a medication made in a Third World country, but how Wal-Mart and Lupin Limited can prove that a USFDA team of inspectors is truly sampling and testing – in a "clean room" laboratory – the quality of their products. You may as well be importing pharmaceuticals from a Chinese melamine plant. We will find out when it makes the news when Americans begin falling ill (or worse) because of Wal-Mart's bottom-line.

Wal-Mart would rather spend millions on shipping (and the fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions that goes with container shipping) than to support a pharmaceutical plant that employs U.S. citizens. I will be getting my prescriptions filled elsewhere from now on – and I will be verifying where my meds are being pressed into little pills... Not in a filthy Third World country anymore.

Walmart Pharmacy - Count Your Pills At The Counter!!!
By -

NORTH OXFORD, MASSACHUSETTS -- I had gone to the Walmart Pharmacy at North Oxford, Massachusetts to get a prescription filled for my wife. The red haired woman wearing glasses gave us the pills and as I was walking away I opened up the pill bottle to look inside. It didn't look like very many pills!!! The prescription was for 12 pills of Zofran, inside there were only 8 pills. I turned around and looked back at the pharmacist and she just smirked, then said, "Oh I didn't give you the right amount, huh?" (She knew what was wrong before I even said anything.)

If I had waited until I got home and realized she shortchanged me I might as well have said goodbye to those pills ($4/each pill= $16 loss). How do you miscount 12 pills & give a customer only 8??? So please don't trust these people and count your pills before leaving the counter!!!

Pill Shortage on Refilled Prescription
By -

MCALLEN, TEXAS -- On 07-07-06 I had a prescription for Plavix refilled at the Wal-Mart Pharmacy located at 4001 North 23rd St. McAllen, TX 78504. The prescription called for 30 pills. When I opened the bottle, the seal was broken and missing and on counting the pills I found it to be six pills short.

This is not the first time this has happened to me at that location. It seems to happen only to very expensive medication. Plavix retails for approx $4.64 per pill. On calling the pharmacy in question, I was told that if I come by they would make good the six missing pills. That is some consolation, but, I would like some assurance that it will not happen again. They have a real problem and do not seem anxious to solve it.

They Intentionally Ripped Off My Daughter
By -

DENTON, TEXAS -- My college student daughter was intentionally ripped off by the Denton Wal-mart pharmacy. She had a prescription for eye drops for 5 ml. The pharmacist intentionally filled it with 10 ml. instead, without informing my daughter, then charged her $ 121.00! I call the doctor to complain, they called the Gainesville Walmart for a price check, then called me back to say the prescription they wrote should only be 64.00.

I went to Denton and confronted them. They acted as though I and my daughter were pests! The only reason they agreed to refund her money was because I brought a copy of the original prescription and a print-out of the price from the other Walmart! This was an intentional rip-off! Shame on the Denton Pharmacist and all the associates in that department. I will contact the home office about this unethical practice!

Pharmacy Inefficiency
By -

SALISBURY, NORTH CAROLINA -- I recently changed my prescription service from Eckerd Drugs to Wal Mart in Salisbury, NC, thinking I would get better and quicker service. My doctor called in a prescription for myself and my husband on Jan. 7, 2004. When we got to the store to pick them up, there was a line of people waiting. Two ladies in front of me, with baskets full and loaded from shopping in the store, proceeded to have the clerk check all these items out along with the prescriptions.

This to me is not an efficient way to get the people waiting on medicine checked out. Why were they not told to take the other items to the front to be checked out? Checking out groceries and clothes at the pharmacy is inexcusable! CVS is looking pretty good right now.
