Lens Is Not 1 Year Old Damaged

SALINA, KANSAS -- For several years, I have purchased Walmart glasses. The last pair of frames I got the finish started coming off at one year and one month. Of course there was no warranty longer than a year!! Last April at my exam my prescription needed to be changed and the Dr. said if I could get by with the old lens to do so, because he thought I was going to have to have cataract surgery by the time of the next yearly appointment. So I purchased new lens; same kind I had always ordered; wore the last ones for 3 years.

In January noticed a scratch on the lens. I never knew when it happened. I took the glasses into the store and of course it is not covered. Rude salesperson! So I am wearing my old glasses until my next appointment. Cannot afford $122 for a lens for 2 months. They are a rip-off. Will not be going to Walmart for glasses anymore. These lens were supposed to have the very same finish as my last pair; after 4 years they still do not have a mark on them.

EXTON, PENNSYLVANIA -- The Walmart Vision Center near Philadelphia conducted the exam very professionally. However, when I tried the prescription on (the one in the holders in the office) it was pretty hard to see. The optometrist recommended that I wait for the glasses to make a final determination - which I did. When I tried the new glasses, I literally could not see. They encouraged me to try them for several days - which I did. I came back because I could not adjust to the glasses.

The optometrist re-examined me, made some adjustments, and re-ordered the glasses (2nd pair). The new glasses were better than the first, but I couldn't focus well in one eye and couldn't read well. Again - get used to them. Then on a trip, the lens fell out - these glasses were only 3 weeks old. When I visited a vision center to have the lens checked, we discovered all kinds of problems with the glasses; one lens was completely rotated, both were too high in the glasses and neither was even.

I went back to Walmart a 3rd time with these issues and talked with the manager. She offered a refund or correction. I opted for new glasses (the 3rd pair) which seem OK finally. But, after all that, no one even fitted them on me! The manager said that the glasses were sent to a lab they did not use because of very poor quality (really)! When I went to get the 3rd pair, the same technician (who sent them to the 'bad' lab) did not know anything about that, even though he sent them to the 'wrong' lab. Is this a professional vision center? I think not. Needless to say, I will take my vision issues elsewhere!

Bad Service at Walmart Vision Center
By -

BATAVIA, ILLINOIS -- I went to Walmart Vision Center in Batavia, Illinois. I was totally ignored. When I chose the frame I liked after paying for the eye exam - the customer service girl talked me out of choosing the frame that was comfortable for me, saying it's too big on my face. I ended up choosing what SHE WANTED, it looked better but was NOT comfortable. I never wear that $300 pair of glasses more than 5 minutes since it hurts. What a waste of money & my time.

WATERTOWN, SOUTH DAKOTA -- I was told there was nothing that they would do in-spite of the prescription being very new. This was contrary to Competitors actions in previous years. I normally am fairly well satisfied with Walmart.
