Getting nowhere--where did the bail out go?
By -

I have been a new member to Chase auto finance as of 11/08 when I purchased a new car. I was laid off of work on April 2009. I have been asking for help to lower my payments maybe $100 being that I'm unemployed and that JP Morgan Chase (same company) received a federal bailout of $25 BILLION. They keep telling me that I'm not approved. They don't seem to care. Guess they would like the car back and mess my credit up good. What is the bail out money supposed to be used for? ONLY to benefit Chase?

I'm also waiting for permanent home loan modification now for 5 months. I'm a good standing person and have never missed payments when employed. Where's the help???? I can't believe they don't care. They would rather take the car back then help.

Chase and the American auto industry deserve what you have coming
By -

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON -- I rate them both as lazy and greedy and I am going with a new credit card company and I sold my Chevy and bought a Toyota. That is the American way and the way free enterprise works. Oh Yea! but corporate America gets a bonus for every customer they lose.

My credit card rate went from 7% to 29.99% after no choice of my own when my credit card company sold my account to Chase. I then had to reenter my back account info. to pay my bill after waiting 5 days while they went offline without any warning to make their switch. I inadvertently hit a number twice (mind you I had a perfect track record for the past 5 yrs. and a credit score of 750.) I found a new card company at 9% and almost the same credit limit. Let's see how they work out. Do not be afraid and hit them in the pocket book and for God sake do not bail them out!

Chase Automatically Denies The Charge The First Time You Wire Money
By -

COLORADO -- This morning I attempted to use MoneyGram to transfer $150 to California, using my Chase credit card. An hour later I received an email from MoneyGram advising me that the credit card company had declined the charge.

Since my account is paid in full every month, and I have plenty of credit available on the card, I was confused. I called Chase, and a representative advised me that the "Security" department had declined the charge. After an excessively long hold time, I was put through to a representative from that department, who advised me that it was Chase's policy to AUTOMATICALLY decline the first charge anytime someone used a service they hadn't used before.

When I asked why they hadn't bothered to call me (since I'd been at home all morning) she said that's not how they do it, but that the charge would now be accepted if I tried again. When I pressed further, she hung up on me --really great customer service, Chase.

It is amazing how much information the credit card company wants from us even though they don't choose to use it. If they were concerned about possible fraud, they could have made one simple phone call to check it out. Instead, they caused a lot of grief because the money was not there as promised.

This is just plain crummy customer service, and I can't imagine Amex doing this. I've been a Chase customer for many years, but I think that I'm in the market for a new credit card. Instead of all of the marketing garbage they send, perhaps they should use some of the space on the monthly bill to advise customers that if they ever want to use a money transfer service that they should call Chase first for authorization.

Poor Customer Service
By -

FORTWORTH, TEXAS -- I called customer service to cancel paymatics (automatic withdraw of $ from bank), so they asked me the address. I recently moved so I called them the next day and I gave them the new address, so they updated the new address but didn't cancel the paymatics. I called them on October 3, 2007. They can only cancel paymatics if you provide them with your address information. The bank that was set up to deduct $ through paymatics had $0 balance. I also set up another bank acct which had $ in it through Chase website so Chase would receive funds without any interruption.

Well, the customer service representative didn't cancel paymatics so the month of October 2007, Chase withdraw 2 payments one from the bank that didn't have any funds and one from the bank which had funds. So the bank that didn't have funds went into overdraft and charged me for overdraft protection fee for a total of $82. So I realized it only after reviewing my bank statement which was on October 22,07. So I had to call Chase again to cancel paymatics and then finally my voice was heard.

So I called Customer Service to refund $82 which was charged by my bank for overdraft fee for no fault of mine and Chase was only willing to refund $41. I appreciate it but why should I pay $41 for someone in Chase customer service didn't do their job right.

Auto Title

I financed a vehicle with Chase 10 years ago and it was paid for 7 years ago. I never received a title from them so I went the local state DVM and they still have a lien against it on record. I called Chase and was told "Yes it's paid for and yes it's our mistake but no you cannot get this corrected at a branch." Since I cannot get a clean title today I have lost a sale.

Do NOT do business with CHASE AUTO FINANCE. They have VERY POOR Customer Service not to mention how INCOMPETENT they are. They are COMPLETELY and TOTALLY USELESS! Chase Auto Finance does NOT work with the customer- they are only in it for themselves. They REFUSE to help! I will NEVER do business with them. I will ensure that my word gets around. I don't want anyone to go through what I did.

Chase Auto Finance

We recently went through the pain of a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Five months ago we signed a re-affirmation agreement with Chase Auto Finance for our 2005 Jeep Liberty. On Saturday, March 13, we received a letter from Chase saying they were repossessing the car. This letter came without warning and after the bankruptcy had been completed. The number that they gave us must sit at an empty desk as it goes unanswered. This bank is no more than a form of organized crime. Consumer BEWARE!!!!
