Best Buy Delivery by Pennridge = NIGHTMARE!
By -

LA JOLLA -- The 3rd party that Best Buy contracts with, in my case it was Pennridge, is absolutely terrible. They did not deliver on the day as promised, and canceled the delivery order without notice claiming that "the Best Buy sales representative had entered the delivery order incorrectly".

Then, on the day they did deliver the washer, the delivery company Pennridge DAMAGED my hardwood floor as they were removing my old washer!!! I suggested that we lay down blankets or protective cover and they rudely dismissed me. Now, it's been 2 weeks trying to get the delivery company to process my claim to assess and repair the damage. However, the company keeps telling me that the person who handles claims "is not available right now". Best Buy takes NO RESPONSIBILITY for this because it is a 3rd party! Why is Best Buy contracting with such unethical and substandard delivery companies!?

Nightmare Washer and Dryer Purchase Experience
By -

I ordered a washer and dryer from Best Buy on 5/13/2010 and when it arrived on 6/12/2010, the installation team sent by Best Buy blew up my circuit breaker as well as dryer so I had to sent it back. I found out that Best Buy had sent a 3rd party to deliver and install my washer and dryer which means they outright lie when they say the following on their online sales phone message: "The easiest way to install something is to let someone else do it, which is exactly what Best Buy's trained technicians are here for."

I had to cancel my order and place a new order on 6/12/2010 and it has become a nightmare. Long story, I still don't have the washer and dryer and my first payment on Best Buy credit is now due, I keep getting the run around by Best Buy's com research team, they lie about when they will contact me back, they almost never call me back. They originally told me it would take 8-14 business days to get my order, now they are telling me they will receive the items on 8/1/2010 but that does not mean I will receive the items then. They have made no effort to expedite my order despite everything they have put me through.

At this point, I would like to take legal action against Best Buy for all the hours of lost time on the phone, all the stress, all the time and money lost because of having to use public laundry facilities, and having to now pay on items I have yet to receive. But I don't even know where to start.

Dented Refrigerator.
By -

HOUMA, LOUISIANA -- I purchased a complete set of stainless Kitchen appliances from Best Buy. When they delivered them and installed them the Refrigerator had a big dent on the side. The service guy called his supervisor and the supervisor said if we would keep the dented fridge he would give us a gift card for $250.00. Needless to say that was a lie because now nobody including the supervisor who also told me on the phone the gift card would be sent to me knows anything. I have talked to Best Buy Customer and you can tell that now that they already have the money the hell with me.

If Best Buy was the last Appliance store in town I would go to another town even if I had to drive 100 miles. Best Buy and it lying people suck to no end. I work hard for my money and feel they are just another kind of lying thieves. Best Buy sucks.

Never Received Wages Earned for Completed Work.
By -

NEW JERSEY -- Dear Best Buy, I worked for a company named "Just Right Installations" of whom installed kitchen appliances for you in the Delaware valley for 3-1/2 yrs. This is the company who took over for a company of which I also worked for (L&R istallations). I installed appliances for these companies for a total of 9 years, and completed each job as if it was in my own home.

About 2 months ago, Just Right Installations shut down because it couldn't afford to run, due to many $500 escalations. As I am told, by my old boss, Optima service solutions (formally A-1 home services) never paid him his last month's pay. Now none of his 6 employees can get paid. This pay was supossed to be for 3 weeks, (about $1,500 total for me). This is a big problem because I feel that I deserve to get paid.

Our work week consisted of anywhere from 45-60 hours per. That's a lot of hrs. when you times that by 3 weeks, to work for free. I've called 1-888-BestBuy, and was referred to Optima, of whom didn't return my phone calls. I find this very frustrating also because, a month before all this, I bought a $960 Asus laptop from the Deptford, NJ Best Buy. I used to buy things from Best Buy all of the time. Now I feel it hard to return to the store because of a bad taste in my mouth about the whole thing. Thank you for your time.

How Do I Get My 3 Weeks Wages Owed to Me When There Are Several Companies Involved, Including "Best Buy"? Everyone Involved Seems.
By -

NEW JERSEY -- Best Buy's appliance installation contractor didn't pay my boss, (the sub-contractor) so me & 5 other employees didn't receive 3 weeks wages, for work performed (approx. 50-60 hrs. per week). There's so many companies involved, it is very complicated to figure out who to go after for my money.

According to my boss, who actually had the contract with a company (A-1/Optima service solutions/home services), who had a contract with Best Buy, A-1 fined our company thousands of dollars, until he was forced to lay us all off and shut the company doors. He informed me that he wouldn't be able to pay us for the 3 weeks we worked since A-1 never paid him the money he was owed, on top of the fines. What should I do? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Selling Whirlpool Dishwasher Without Necessary Parts
By -

KENNEWICK, WASHINGTON -- Today we purchased a brand new, in the box, Whirlpool Built-in Tall Tub Dishwasher from Best Buy. Brought it home, and during installation found that it comes missing a part to connect the unit to the water line. This part, a fitting to match the dishwasher pipe to the water line, is described on an "addendum" to the instructions, and it says to the consumer that "This part is not included in the package, and you need to go buy it. If you have any trouble finding it, you should call Whirlpool."

So we called Best Buy to ask why it wasn't sold with the unit and they said, "We don't carry it." And they advised us to go to Home Depot. Well, we could've bought this dishwasher from Home Depot in the first place... Whirlpool is to blame for not providing the fitting, and Best Buy should sell appliances with all needed parts, or notify the consumer if a unit is missing any, and advise them where and what to buy. That is customer service.

MISREPRESENTATION OF DELIVERY AND INSTILLATION
By -

MASSENA, IOWA -- HONESTY IS NOT THE BEST POLICY BY THE COUNCIL BLUFFS BEST BUY. On purchasing and paying cash for a LG washer and dryer. Delivery and instillation was discussed, at length agreed to and paid for. Paying for a service at Best Buy does not mean service is to be expected. Delivery was cancelled and instillation refused on delivery.

When the manager called, all I can say is he needs to look up excuse vs apology in the dictionary. Poor customer service, rude behavior and excuses are not good business practices for any size store. Learned my lesson. No more Best Buy. At the very least delivery charge should have been refunded. Don't pay cash and get everything in black and white. Not how it should be, but how it has become. Sorry customer.

Where Is My Dishwasher?
By -

Ordered a dishwasher by phone and online – delivery and installation charges seemed out-of-touch expensive but ordered it anyway. Delivery scheduled for Dec. 31, 2009. Got an email the day before saying delivery is rescheduled for Jan. 6, 2010. No reason given, and it's a good thing we'll still be at that house for another week! Jan. 6 comes, no call beforehand so I have no clue when.

I call Best Buy around seven times that day asking "where is my dishwasher"? By 6:30 pm, the customer service representative is still telling me the dishwasher is coming and the del. 'guys' will call me immediately. I make sure she has my correct phone number this time, as the phone person incorrectly typed in my cellphone number. No call, no delivery. Called Best Buy the next morning and cancelled the order. Another step – I had to call the installers (separate number, separate charge) to cancel them and got a message machine. So who knows if they got the message????

Best Buy Dishwasher Installer Problems
By -

Purchased a new dishwasher at Best Buy. Purchase and delivery went perfectly but I have yet to hear from the installer. Installation date came and went and I heard nothing from the installer. I called Best Buy and they could not track the installer down either. It's passed the contracted installation time and I have yet to hear from them.

Heads up if you schedule Best Buy installation. I had a bad experience. I also have no mechanical skills to hook up a dishwasher. Even though it seems basic, I am leaving it to the pros. If I had to do it again I would not purchase installation services from Best Buy. I can wait for them, attempt a self-install or hire a professional installer. Best Buy has not refunded my installation fee and only promised to "monitor" the installation process and keep trying to track down the installer. Hmmm. Seems a little weird they can't find their own staff or contractors.

Best Buy lies
By -

CORALVILLE, IOWA -- About three years ago, I went to the Coralville, Iowa Best Buy to shop for a washer and dryer. The manager offered to sell me a washer for only $300.00 (about half the cost). He said it was a floor model with a small dent but it had never been used. When the washer was delivered, it didn't work. I found out it was a used and refurbished washer. They delivered another washer, again it didn't work. By then I had gone without a washer for three months, even though it had been paid and with a warranty three months earlier. Finally the manager said they had no choice but to deliver a new one and it would not cost me more for the trouble I had been through.

The washer worked OK until two years later, the handle broke. Best Buy sent a serviceman to repair the machine. I was then told they could not get parts for the washer, instead of replacing the washer they gave me a Best Buy gift card for $300.00, said because that's what I paid for, plus my remaining three years of paid warranty is now terminated.

After that, they refused to take my calls. I spent $120 of the $300 to hire an outside repairman and found out that it's not because there's no part, but because the Best Buy serviceman installed the new door the wrong direction and burned the machine, a fact Best Buy never disclosed to me. I will continue to pursue this due to the lies involved.
