Lowe's Doesn't Stand Behind the Products They Sell!

WEST BRIDGEWATER, MASSACHUSETTS -- I bought a stackable washer and dryer for my daughter in January 2013. After the 5th time of breaking, I called the store and told them, it was obviously a lemon and I wanted to return it. The so called manager of the appliance dept said, "sorry, it's 10 days over the warranty and nothing we can do for you!" He had no record of me ever calling. I reminded him that I just spoke to him in October when it broke for the fourth time. He said,"he speaks to way too many people to ever remember me." (He must do a lot of calls of this nature if I don't stand out after 5 calls in 1 year.)

After numerous calls to the West Bridgewater, Ma store and the corporate customer service, they refuse to stand behind their product. The machine shouldn't have broken once in five years, much less five times in 1 year. I own my own construction company and spend over 70,000.00 every year in supplies, tools and building materials at Lowe's. Not to mention what I used for my personal use. I am not a person whom like controversy and usually don't return things.

I am so disgusted with this company and how they conduct business. It's in the hand of my credit card company now. Either way, I will never shop at any Lowe's. I also instructed all my carpenters they are never to purchase any product for my Jobs at this store. Figure it out Lowe's, the washer was 1,167.00 that probably cost you 600, you lost over 75,000.00 in sales from me alone. With customer service like this, you will follow the fate of the big box store before you, and deserve it! #LOWESSUCKS!

ESTERO, FLORIDA -- Service from Lowe's was great! Frigidaire Freezer horrible. Runs most of the time, electric bill went up over $14, very noisy. Would not recommend to anyone. Will be contacting dealer for service. My review is for appliance only.

Measure Appliances Yourself Because Lowe's Doesn't Think They're Important

WAKE FOREST, NORTH CAROLINA -- On 12-7-13, we walked into Lowe's with the measurements for our current over-the-range microwave oven; we even had the original user manual so there would be no problems buying a new one that would fit. The salesman assured us that the new one that we had selected would fit. Two weeks later the installer arrived and could not get the new one to fit because it was an inch too tall. We have a stone backsplash and the bracket for support requires that the microwave be no more than 15.5" high. The new one was 16.5" high. We thought that we could call Lowe's and just get them to send one that would fit. Turns out, they don't sell one that will fit except for a $1,000 model!

We had to urgently call the installer to come back and put our old microwave back and hope that we could pay someone to fix it. The installer brought our microwave back; it had obviously been thrown into the back of his truck because the key pad was now broken and the hood vent was also now broken. I went to Lowe's today and told them what happened and the only thing they cared about was "Where is the new microwave?" I told them I had no idea where it was and asked them what they were going to do to fix the problem.

They said that I could contact two companies to see about fixing it (never mentioning making any restitution for busting up my microwave) and that they would give us a full credit back after they are able to locate the original microwave. They also said that it wasn't the salesman's fault because he could not have known that we have a backsplash! Seriously, they said that.

Am I the only one in America with a backsplash? I told them that it was the salesperson's fault; we had the measurements and he should have paid attention to them. The fact that a home improvement store does not train its appliance salespeople to pay attention to MEASUREMENTS speaks volumes about this company.

Whirlpool Cabrio Is a Horrible Excuse of a Washing Machine - Thankfully Lowe's Took It Back

FERNANDINA BEACH, FLORIDA -- Thank goodness I purchased this machine at Lowe's. They honored my complaint, refunded my money and scheduled a pickup immediately for this horrible excuse of a washing machine. The product looked good on the showroom floor, it all sounded good as the salesperson went over the options and explained how it worked. That was as good as it got for this product. The washing machine never cleaned anything! However, it did manage to twist, mutilate, and tear up several blouses,1 pair of pants and 1 sweatshirt.

The first load was full of t-shirts, socks and underwear. These items came out OK, but as I was transferring the clothes from washer to dryer, I noticed they didn't smell fresh. I thought I made a mistake in adding the detergent, so I rewashed the load. The second load was towels, they seemed OK, but they weren't too dirty to start with; however, after I dried them I saw the soap residue that was left behind on several of the towels. So I rewashed this load as well. The third load was my last load. The clothes came out with soap stains, streaks from uneven wetness in the clothes and of course, the damages I mentioned above.

I can't get rid of this machine fast enough! Apart from not cleaning the clothes, the machine sounds as if parts about about to fly off of it at any minute. The rattle of metallic pieces is not the same sound as the sound of a washing machine in action.

I am luckier than some of the people who bought this waste of a product, because at least Lowe's was the company I had to deal with and they were wonderful regarding the return the product and refunding of my money. I am told Whirlpool has bought out Maytag, this is the only reason I tried this machine. Whirlpool, you are no Maytag! I am off to check out other manufacturers as they certainly can't be any worst!

So Fed Up With Lowe's Home Improvement

WILKESBORO, NORTH CAROLINA -- My 4 year old Maytag fridge just stopped cooling the first of November. Lost all my food. A week later, they brought us out a loner fridge. Yes, a week later! Found my receipt where I purchased the extended warranty. They sent me a card three weeks later. Was not enough to purchase the same kind of fridge I had, so now I have a bill. They brought out a fridge, took them from 4:15 to 6:00. My husband went down in our basement around that night and water was running through the floor where the fridge set. They came upstairs, pulled the fridge out. Water was pouring out of a hose where they hooked the water and ice up.

I called Lowe's, a night watch answer the phone. He wrote down my name and number. Lowe's called at 6 am, said they would be out by 9:00, never saw them. I called again, they finally came out, said it was a defect and they could fix it, but had to go get parts. They were in and out our home all day, my floors are a mess. I just sat down and cried. They said they see about reimburse us for all the trouble, but have not seen or heard from them today. Just fed up.

Frigidaire Refrigerator Made With Cheap Fragile Plastic Parts

RAPID CITY, SOUTH DAKOTA -- I paid $1700 for my Frigidaire refrigerator less than two years ago. I purchased three appliances and the 4-year warranty from Lowe's. I thought this was great at first, I even helped my neighbor select her appliances from Lowe's. Turns out my stainless Frigidaire appliances look great but the refrigerator parts are plastic and fragile. Two small plastic tabs hold the fronts on the crisper drawers and they snap right off.

Turns out the 4-year warranty only covers mechanical issues and Frigidaire does not consider this a quality problem. They will replace my drawer with another cheap plastic drawer for $106 plus shipping. Buyer beware, check Frigidaire interior parts. Cheap plastic children's toys are sturdier than this.

Poor Customer Service Forced Me to Cancel a Sale

EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY -- I bought a moderately expensive gas range oven and the components required for installation, and setup for delivery, installation, and haul away of my old oven. Spent nearly 45 minutes on the phone arranging delivery and installation to very specifically be on a very specific date, as it was my only day off from work for the rest of the month until Thanksgiving, when it will be needed.

I was then expecting a call from the delivery company with my window of time for the day in question. After all that, they said that they had it scheduled for another day because "that worked better on their end". Seriously? I am at a complete loss for words on how to respond to that, so I cancelled the order (wasting an additional 30 minutes of my time) and bought a similar unit at Home Depot. I have given Lowe's many chances over the years and only shopped there this time because they are closer than Home Depot. Will not be making that mistake again.

Poor Customer Service/Extended Warranty Waste of Money

LAKE JACKSON, TEXAS -- DO NOT PURCHASE YOUR MAJOR APPLIANCES FROM LOWES! I purchased a new stacked washer/dryer with an extended 4 year warranty from Lowes on February 2, 2012. 2 weeks ago my washer quit working. I called Lowes to request repair. They scheduled a repair through A&E Factory Service, 8 days out. The A&E repairman called me on his way to my home, asking the problem (which I described to Lowes on my initial call). He immediately replied that it sounded like the motherboard needed to be replaced, that this was a common issue, and A&E did not keep these parts in stock and he would have to order it.

After diagnosing the problem, just as he suspected, this was the problem. He said he would order the part, which should arrive in 2-3 days, but he could not come back to install it until Nov 2. This means I will be without my washing machine for over 2 weeks. $50 at laundromats since waiting for repairs. I have sent various emails and made several calls to Lowes expressing my dissatisfaction with their warranty repair service, only getting the runaround. Don't waste your money with Lowes.

Female Appliance Manager Needs People Skills, Not Friendly at All.

CULLMAN, ALABAMA -- The female appliance manager was not friendly at all. When asked a question she acted as if I wasn't even there and never answered me. She actually needs to be replaced. Went back today and spoke to two gentlemen John & Paul and they were extremely helpful. I will never deal with the woman again. I will bypass her or leave the store if there is nobody else around to deal with.
