Nothing but problems, I wouldn't buy Whirlpool products again!
By -

I bought a Whirlpool duet steam washer and dryer about four years ago and I have had nothing but problems with both of them. My clothes come out stinking even if they didn't before they went in. The clean cycle hasn't worked right since I bought them. I put the Clorox in and it fills with cold water then dumps out and agitates back and forth with no water in the machine. The dryer cuts off in the middle of the cycle and lights flicker on and off. I have had them checked over and over by Sears and several hundred dollars later same problems. I don't mind paying 2,600.00 for the washer and dryer if you get good service from the machines. What's wrong these days!!! Things used to last.

Shoddy Workmanship

MICHIGAN -- I am a single parent on a budget and money is tight. I researched the best washer and dryer to by and everything pointed to Whirlpool. I bought both in 2006. I have had nothing but problems with breakdowns. I replaced the washer cycle switch and the dryer element has always had to run 2 or more times to dry properly. I called and was asked "What do you want us to do about it?" It's your problem, not ours!!! I would never recommend any Whirlpool washer and dryers to anyone. They are all hype about their superior quality. An unhappy Michigan customer.

Whirlpool customer service is below poor

I have had few actual problems with this dryer until today - but it's still pretty much new and does not receive excess usage. Today the plastic knob that sets the timer broke off. After going online I see this is a common occurrence. I spent 28 minutes waiting on the customer service phone line to be told that the replacement plastic knob would be $25 plus tax and shipping. I understand that my dryer is now out of the 365 day warranty, but when I asked why would this knob be $25? The customer service Supervisor advised me that "this is what the part costs us" which is completely unbelievable; it's a 2 inch wide piece of plastic.

He went on to say that "when a Whirlpool product goes out of warranty, Whirlpool will offer no assistance whatsoever." I asked to speak with his supervisor and was told that he is at the highest level of customer service they provide and my only other option was to write the CEO directly in Benson Harbor, Michigan. All this because a 2 inch plastic knob broke! I would never purchase another product from this company that so proudly and blatantly decrees we will offer no support whatsoever ASAP, and instead of apologizing for the situation; literally insults the consumer!

The worst appliance I have ever own. Don't Buy (What a hunk of junk.)

The Worst Company Ever. A & E Factory Service is code for "someone who has no idea how to fix anything". I can think of NOTHING to recommend them. MAKE sure that you avoid A & E Factory Service. Oh, and if you search on their name, you will find links to numerous other complaints stemming back for YEARS.

Unfortunately, I did not know this was who BrandsMart USA was sending to my house. If I could give them minus zero, I would IF YOU CAN POSSIBLY AVOID THEM, DO IT!!! I'm making sure to NEVER use A & E Factory Service/BrandsMart USA and/Whirlpool again. Whirlpool IS the WORST Customer/Repair Service and what a hunk of junk. The worst appliance I have ever own. Don't Buy.

No Problems

I love my Whirlpool duet. Have not had any issues with it. Love how my clothes come out clean and love the sanitizing feature on it. I also have the built in feature to remind me to clean it with the tablets that are on the market to get rid of any odors. Remember, you must leave the door open after use for a bit to air it out. Love the dryer so I can "iron" anything I want on the express steam setting. Costly way to do it, could iron it faster but it's a nice smell when done.

Whirlpool not a company that stand by there name

VINELAND, NEW JERSEY -- We purchased a brand new Whirlpool washer and dryer 5 years ago dryer model # lgq9508pw1. After spending $100.00 for a service man to come out and tell us we have to buy a new coil assembly with his rate and what the part will cost us we are going to buy a cheap dryer. This is so wrong they should have a bright red sticker on all Whirlpool products "never ending expenses". Buying top of the line with all those fancy buttons only cost you more in the long run. If winter wasn't around the corner I would purchase a clothes line. I hope the CEO of Whirlpool enjoyed my $1500.00 bucks. There is no more consumer loyalty in this world.

Rust on Whirlpool Appliances
By -

I have a Whirlpool refrigerator and washer & dryer. Both have rust breaking out. On the front door of the refrigerator and on the inside areas of the washer & dryer. How does this occur? Both have been maintained with the best of care (no scratches or dings to compromise the enamel). I used to believe that the Whirlpool name was among the tops in the appliance industry - but now, their quality has gone down to 0! Are they skipping on the manufacturing process to cut costs (are keep the profit margins) or are they just no longer capable of making high quality products anymore?

Since warranty coverage is no longer part of their liability, the only recourse we have is to buy another manufacturer - and Whirlpool never acknowledges their shortcomings. I am sure that they are very much aware of the rust problems (but owning up to the corrections is not part of the program). I will be looking at other manufacturers for my replacements and I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance again.

Embarrassing Service

Dear Whirlpool, I would seriously reconsider your contract with A&E Factory Service. It truly reflects badly on Whirlpool when you continuously contract with a company that calls the customer on the day of the appointment and stretch the time from 1-5 to 6 at which time I advised the technician where to park to 7 then calling to cancel due to "can't find parking" I offered for the technician to park in my garage, when I moved my car, I was able to find parking in less than 2 minutes.

Then I saw the technician sneaking away in a car marked A&E. If that is the attitude of that company, then I truly have not the faith to have those technician work on my machine. Either they have hired the wrong person, or they are overworking their employees. I called the company and was told the best they can do is reschedule me for another 4 hour time slot, without any effort at all to schedule it for a two hour window instead due to their mistake. It is infantile for a company to penalize the customer's time due to THEIR irresponsibility.

They even listed my dryer as an electric dryer. It is GAS. Time is money, not only for the consumers, but for your company as well. I am disappointed that my time off work to wait for repair was subjected to so much disrespect. Not to mention, an appliance that has only been in use for two months since I've moved in here is not operating as it should be, it's truly embarrassing.

Whirlpool Duet Dryer Darn Junk
By -

My Duet Dryer is 5 yrs old, control panel went out ($200 item), the cost of panel and repairman, nearly $400. New Dryer $900+ thought of getting new one though my laundry room is in the main part of our new home and a very nice room.. thus the "new dryer", even tho Duet would NOT match my washer, so opted for the repair. One wk 4 loads of laundry later the repaired dryer again not working. Control panel will not light up when the control on button is pushed, thus nothing happens.

Called Whirlpool and asked them to send another control panel at no cost to me, they said they needed repairman to diagnose the problem first (another $80 service fee to be paid by me, one service call to come and look at it, a second $80 change to come and put part in) thus another $160 on top of previous costs and still a lemon of a dryer. Of course the 'new models' are designed so that you cannot find one to match a 5 yr old model, cannot even change out the hardware so to put a door from an 05 model on a 2010 model.

Whirlpool comment "sorry ma'am, we can give you 15% off on the purchase of a new one"... I said even at 50% off would anyone want to buy another product of the same making when it lasted a short 5 yrs!!! Very dissatisfied and feel Whirlpool truly does not care about the customer who has purchased their product just the one they are hoping to get... well beware one and all, STAY AWAY FROM WHIRLPOOL!!!

Whirlpool produces Lemons!
By -

I purchased a Whirlpool laundry center (WGT3300SQ1) in January 2009. After 7 months, the water temperature controls stopped working correctly and I never knew what temp to expect, but always got hot rinses (great for your perm press items!). I've had two different service companies out 9 times, parts have been replaced and the machine would work for a short time and then revert to incorrect water temps.

Whirlpool customer service wants no part of this, since it is no longer under warranty, however, the problem started under warranty and has never been resolved. They refuse to admit the unit is a lemon! I am out $1400 and now need to look for another unit (not manufactured by Whirlpool!) in order to keep my sanity!
