The Home Depot Complaint - Terrible Customer Service
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- I special ordered a fence through the Brickyard Home Depot in Chicago, Illinois. I spent over $2,000 for the fence. When I purchased the fence, I was told that Home Depot would call me to let me know it was in. That did not happen. I called three weeks after placing the order, and the woman who answered said, "oh yeah it has been in for several days, sorry no one called." After scheduling the delivery, the woman forgot to confirm my address. She left a message on my phone and said to call her back. I called her back at the number and it rang three times and went dead. I did this four times with no luck. I then called the stores main line, was put on hold for ten minutes, and was transferred four times. When I finally got someone who could talk about deliveries, he refused to help because I didn't have my order number. However, when I called to set up the initial delivery the woman just needed my phone number. This sort of customer service is deplorable. You would think that with the competition that is out there, the Home Depot would do a better job of treating its customers with respect. It is no wonder a Google search of "Home Depot Complaints" brings up thousands of websites devoted specifically to consumers who have been mistreated by the Home Depot.
