RUNAWAY BAY, TEXAS -- Just another Whirlpool hot water and customer service complaint. Hot Heater never got very hot and never enough hot water. Called Whirlpool. They sent out repairman twice never & fixed problem. We ask for a refund on hot water heater. They said they could not give us one without a flow chart that their repairman should have taken. Lowe's finally sent their service man out and Lowe's replaced hot water heater with another Whirlpool hot water heater.
My fingers are crossed that this one will work. Good job finally to Lowe's and unspeakable bad job to Whirlpool.
I agree with the aforementioned problems with this unit. (Flame lock) I also have had problems with the thermocoupler. This will be the 2nd unit I have installed... The unit quits without warning or pattern. Secondly, when you access the website attempting to cross reference a number, good luck. They need to update the site so you can enter a model or serial number so the system will provide you with the appropriate unit so you can pick the necessary part. Here is an idea. Sell the part. Finally, I do not speak Spanish.
I have read a lot of reviews and they are all the same. I also have a Whirlpool hot water heater. I have installed (seven) flamelock thermocouples. I contacted Whirlpool. They gave me the same excuse every time I go to Lowe's - they are out of flamelock thermocouples or there is only a few left in the box. Maybe someone should find out how many are sold and that should tell Whirlpool something. It would be nice to get my $111.44 back from Whirlpool.
TAOS, OHIO -- The water heater I bought through Lowe's quit after fourteen months. A service man said "Whirlpool sure made a lot of junk that year." Repairs 159.00, Lowe's isn't a great place, but they are great at not giving a damn. Whirlpool won't ever see my money again.
