Has anyone used millstead engineered click and lock engineered click and lock flooring
By -

I am interested in the Home Depot's Millstead click and lock flooring. It has real wood backing, and can be floated, it is Hand-scraped Hickory Chestnut, they have this moisture barrier that is red with white bumps on the back of it that they claim will keep moisture off flooring. I want to put this in the kitchen. We do not have a moisture problem, we have a problem, that when we walk on any floor we put down, it dulls where we walk. We have down LL vinyl plank flooring, and where we walk, the floor is all dull, and no matter what I use on it, it looks awful. I am at a loss at what to use. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Home Depot Is Far From Perfect

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK -- Anyone who wants to join in a joint complaint/suit against Home Depot, please respond! They present themselves as knowledgeable and professional and they are anything but. The staff is clueless. They had no idea what the Janka scale for hardwood floors was, and they misrepresented floors on display. They promise delivery dates and fail to deliver for weeks! The wood is poor quality, high in moisture and warped. I hear there are many complaints about them, which I wish I had known about before I bought my floors from them. Home Depot in NYC is one of the few places you can shop for flooring, and they take advantage of "city folk" who have few other places to shop in.

Poor customer service

DUBLIN, OHIO -- One of the worst experiences with retail stores. Ordered 7 boxes of bamboo flooring through the store (special order) on July 18th, they got to the store on August 13. Of course, one of the boxes was not with the right product. They promised they would order it again and it will get to the store "in a couple of days." Now I find out it will get to the store probably on August 30th, which probably means around September 10th. I already paid for the floors, of course. This adds to the fact that whenever you go to the Sawmill store you can find no one to help you. I really like the products and the prices, but I go more and more to Lowe's... Higher prices but better service.

A Poor Way to Operate Their Store
By -

DALLAS, WYOMING -- It's not worth my time to tell you a story that will only make me madder. No one knows what happened to the order placed and then when I find someone that does they make more excuses and to why the order was not placed. After reordering after a guy comes to the house to measure they lost the order again. Now we are talking 3 hours at the store getting nothing done I am told they won't install the back area because it is called a porch and the moisture is too high in that area. The area is not a porch but some lady said from 1000 plus miles away not seeing the room would not install it.

Three weeks have passed and still nothing was ordered. Also every time I go in the store all the employees run around counting stock and have no time to help you find anything or they're out of stock and don't care about reordering. Lines are slow at check out.

Lowe's is where I shop now and don't mind driving 5 miles more to get great service. My spending at Home Depot was 3000 a month redoing homes but now Lowe's gets 4000 and Home Depot can lay off everyone and go bankrupt to please me as I am sure will happen soon.

Flooring / Kitchens

LONDONDERRY, NEW HAMPSHIRE -- I'm a grandma of 5 - I have custody. I asked Home Depot for some help. Instead, they wanted to build me a $15k+ kitchen - that I can't afford. Flooring - it took approx 6 tries to get someone to even come to my house to measure! When I wanted to pick up flooring myself, they told me I couldn't use their installers. Bought flooring in October 2008. Floor installed February 2009. Dropped the flooring in my driveway - 15 ea, 34 lbs ea. I have two bad hands - was wearing a hand brace. The drive drops off the flooring and pulls away laughing as I tried to pick up the first bundle.

Bad Job And Horrible Servicing
By -

NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- Ordered a new wood floor for my daughter's apartment and it was installed in Dec. 2007--bad installation from American Carpets--a subcontractor--their guys did not speak English. I called the store and the installation company every day to say how bad the job was and asked that they send a supervisor. Never happened. Floor came up within a week.

Second installation, better installers, but product from Home Depot was defective and again, it had to come up. Apartment was a mess for 6 months while this was happening and they had the nerve to charge me an astronomical amount of $ minus they said a fair discount of $5,000. This sloppy job, defective product and total mess in the apartment for months and now I am being billed $11,995 for a little less than 800 square feet of flooring with a "$5,000 discount". Do not buy anything from Home Depot. By the way, their corporate office never returned my phone calls.

Flooring Misquote

VICTORVILLE, CALIFORNIA -- My husband and I went to Home Depot in hopes of having new carpet installed. We found a color we loved and got help from an assistant. We were told that for a 16X20 area of carpet, padding and installation the price would be $345 dollars. We received this in writing and it clearly says "QUOTE" in the upper right hand corner of the 4 page receipt that we have. About a week later we get a phone call from the installer who told us the price would be $1097.

I called Home Depot and spoke to Diane and a very untrained manager Martin. During the whole call they tried to say "Well you already said that.." and then tried to put words in my mouth. I constantly had to back track and say "No, I never did say that." After going back and forth for almost two hours the phone call ended with Martin yelling out me that the only deal they would give us was $979 for the work to be done. It was absolutely awful. This happened at the Victorville, California store on Roy Rogers.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK -- I had a laminate floor installed in my kitchen. This was done by ACS, the installers for Home Depot. The work was sloppily done and I Emailed the installers and Corporate Headquarters of Home Depot, with pictures of the problems attached. No response from either one.

BELLE CHASSE, LOUISIANA -- I concur with all the other comments. I purchased about 2500 square feet of Thomasville flooring. This has to be the biggest mistake I have ever made!!! I have experienced all of the problems that I have read about in your complaint section. Home Depot should refund my money and pay for the installation of a new floor! Shame on Home Depot for carrying such an inferior product while charging a premium for it!!! Every time I look at that floor I feel like tearing up my Home Depot Corporate credit card!!!
